Hey! Want to know how we came up with the poster for Caen BMX Indoor 2023? Well, let me tell you about our artistic adventure!

Already, I had carte blanche to design the poster, so we were free as air to create whatever we wanted. And of course, we wanted something that would “rock”, that would be heavy, you know what I mean? You don’t need a fully equipped studio or a Hollywood budget…

So we found ourselves outside but sheltered from the rain/snow (thanks to the barn) with enough space to set up an improvised studio, because we needed to make smoke, you know? And for that, we needed a super-wide bottom of 3 meters. Why so big? Because we needed to take a step back to welcome our champion Léa and her BMX.

We also needed the perfect light to set the tone, so we pulled out all the stops with 4 flash units. But as with any photo shoot, there are unforeseen circumstances: the background was too low, it was as cold as a fridge… But we found solutions with our great team! Two chairs and we’re off like a shot! For the cold….

Once the tests were completed, we set up the smoke bombs to create a crazy atmosphere! And to find the perfect combination of colors and smoke, we almost choked 24.5 times, but it was a great moment of fun and laughter all the same!

Watch the video to understand this:

We can’t thank Léa enough for her patience and kindness, and the whole Caen BMX Indoor team, because without them, none of this would have been possible! Thank you Pierre-Louis, Mélodie, Camille, Emilie, Rémi, Jonas… We’re quite a family, and I’m lucky enough to be part of it!

For the rest, Studio 911, our communications agency, took care of designing the poster and producing all the communication materials.
